If you’re not taking advantage of every facet of your hockey fandom, then you’re missing out. I’m here to make sure you’re set up to do just that, with the most complete hashtags guide you’ll want to refer to throughout the NHL’s 2021-22 campaign. Enjoy.

An Annual Occurrence

As a lifelong hockey fan, and someone who has embraced social media since its inception, I’ve yet to look away from the moment I took notice of the NHL’s custom Twitter hashtags. Both because it’s an important way to stay relevant in every discussion and I’m simply a sucker for that type of online aesthetic.

Yet, I had continually encountered the same challenge every single season. Outside of the few hashtags that I used most often during any given campaign, I continually found myself searching the depths of the internet for the dozens of others that were out there.

Of course, I want my fellow fans to find my commentary. But getting into a rivals’ timeline is equally as relevant — if not more so.

It was like I was setting myself up for failure, with every Google search for a comprehensive list of NHL hashtags. All of which continually came up empty. So, I created it myself.

Beyond benefitting my own fandom, I knew there were others out there who faced the same frustrations. Struggling to find this seemingly easy to convey information. You, reading this right now, are the main reason I started what has now blossomed into an annual tradition.

And, if you think you have them all figured out from the 2020-21 campaign, you’re wrong. They change from time to time, as evidence in this year’s list.

Have Your Say on Social

Social media can be a wonderful place if we use it as it was originally intended – to connect. With that in mind, I want to hear from you.

Whether you’re looking to learn more about the sport, are ready to share your Stanley Cup prediction, or you just want to tell me that I can’t have two favourites teams, I’m ready to have those discussions. Are you?

On any given game day, including every moment in between and beyond, you’ll likely find me around #HockeyTwitter. Feel free to join me and be sure to add your team’s hashtag when you do.
